Androsa FileProtector is a file encryption software which allows you to protect your sensitive data by encrypting it and protecting the encrypted content with a password.

Nowadays, data security and integrity are key issues for all of us, whether we're talking about banking details, personal data or complex corporate projects. The data protection is enhanced by the features such as: protection against the accidental overwriting of the files and the possibility to delete the files after their use.

The program will not only encrypt your data, but it will also compress it in case you need to save hard disk space. While testing the program, I learned that using the maximum level of compression and a 256 bit Rijndael algorithm, I could encrypt files at a rate of 9 Mb/s. You won't feel a notable difference between an unencrypted and an encrypted/compressed multimedia file, though.

You can protect your encrypted files with a password. Once you've entered the password, the program will show you the password's strength. If you want your data to be properly protected, you should set a password containing upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.

You can encrypt data using a 64 bit DES (Data Encryption Standard) algorithm, a 192 bit TripleDES algorithm or AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) Rijndael algorithms from 128 to 256 bits.

Pluses: The program supports drag-and-drop from Windows Explorer and context menu integration. Other extremely useful features of this program are the possibility to pause/resume the encryption process as well as the possibility of creating self-extracting (SFX) encrypted files.

Drawbacks / flaws:

In conclusion: An excellent data protection software and free as well.
